Put Residents First!

For Old Town to survive and thrive the parking garage needs to be located on Indian School Rd. or Drinkwater Blvd. and integrated with a trolley station. This will allow drivers to easily find the garage, park and take the trolley to and from the downtown shops.

We turned our petitions in with a record 5,000 plus signatures at the May 20th City Council meeting asking for a full-blown public hearing. on moving the garage to a more appropriate location.

They rejected Mayor Borowsky’s call to hold a public hearing!

Ignoring our 5,000 plus signatures, Councilman Barry “BS” Graham again made the motion and the City Council voted not to schedule the requested public hearing.

The Council members claimed that they received an overwhelming number of emails supporting the Garage. However, the record shows 90 emails opposed the garage versus only 2 in favor.

Mayor Borowsky Puts Residents First!

Councilman Graham pretends to put Residents First!

In February, Council Members Dubauskas, Graham, Kwasman, Littlefield, and McAllen voted against giving Mayor Borowsky 30 days to finish her discussion with Honor Health for the City to reacquire the two acres at Drinkwater and 2nd Street that the City sold to them 15 years ago and remains vacant.

In making the motion to begin the construction of the garage, Councilman BS Graham used the Mission’s Bell Tower to rationalize the height of his 3-story garage, saying: “As for the building height in the area, across the street there’s a four story tower”. (February 11, 2025 Council meeting vote on the garage).

At the March 18, 2025 Council meeting, Councilman “BS” Graham falsely claimed that in the 2019 bond election that “70% of Scottsdale voters” actually voted to build the 3-story garage directly across from the Old Adobe Mission and displacing the Farmers Market.

At the May 20, 2025 Council meeting Councilman made the motion not to hold a public hearing.

Councilman Barry “BS” Graham would like you to believe that in rationalizing his vote for the monstrous Old Town garage, that “[he] was clearly referring to the only 4-story tower* in the vicinity—HonorHealth’s building (image below)”.

However, before voting for the garage his actual statement justifying its 3 stories was “As far as the building height in the area, across the street there’s a four story tower. The Honor Health building he points to is only 3-stories tall and hardly a “tower.”

*Tower is defined as; a tall, narrow structure, often square or circular, that either forms part of a building or stands alone. Source: Cambridge Dictionary.

Shouldn’t we have a City Councilman that tells the truth, instead of trying to feed us a line of BS?

Tell him to hold a public hearing and give Mayor Borowsky the opportunity to find a better location for the garage, actually put “Residents First” and please stop the BS!
