We turned our petitions in with a record 5,000 plus signatures at the May 20th City Council meeting. Thanks to all who signed.
Ignoring our 5,000 plus signatures, Councilman Barry “BS” Graham made the motion and the City Council voted not to schedule the requested public hearing.
The City Council rejected Mayor Borowsky’s effort to put “residents first” and respect the 5,000 plus signatures by holding a public hearing!
The Council members misrepresented that they received an overwhelming number of emails supporting the Garage. However, the record shows 90 emails opposed the garage versus only 2 in favor.
Email the City Council at CityCouncil@ScottsdaleAZ.gov and demand they put “residents first” and hold the requested full-blown public hearing on their 3-story garage!
The Farmers Market attracts 15,000 visitors every Saturday.
Save Old Town from the Developers!
Supporters of the Garage know that during construction of the garage, area merchants will suffer monetary losses and potentially go bankrupt like Pischke’s Paradise did during the construction of the Parking Corral at Brown and 1st street.
Constructing on top of Parking Corral will not only obscure the Mission and displace the Farmers Market but will create distressed properties leading to redevelopment opportunities for apartment developers!
